Floor & Decor's 2027 Tile of the Year is Capri Oat, a matte beige limestone-look porcelain. As of October 15, 2026, the listed price runs about $3.19 to $4.39 per sq ft depending on size, so a 120 sq ft room needs roughly $420 to $580 of tile with 10% extra. Prices change by store, so check yours before you budget.

What you're buying

Floor & Decor's page for the 12 x 24 size lists it as 8 mm thick, rectified (straight edges for the smallest grout line), and rated for floors, walls, shower floors and shower walls. Matte finish, beige "oat" color, printed limestone texture. It was announced alongside the company's 2027 design forecast on October 7, 2026 (Forbes).

Price by size, as of October 15, 2026

SizeListed price120 sq ft + 10% (132 sq ft)
12 x 12$3.19 / sq ft$421
12 x 24$3.19 / sq ft$421
24 x 24$3.69 / sq ft$487
24 x 48$4.39 / sq ft$579

The 24 x 48 size costs $158 more than 12 x 24 for the same room. Some stores list 24 x 48 at $3.99, so the same tile can differ by store. The 12 x 24 comes in 16 sq ft boxes ($51.04), so 132 sq ft is 9 boxes, or $459 after rounding up. Prices above exclude mortar, grout, underlayment, tools and labor.

Order and prep

  • Add 10%. Floor & Decor recommends an extra 10% for cuts and breakage. Straight lay is enough for most rooms; diagonal or herringbone needs more, so run the tile calculator with your layout.
  • Large tile needs a flatter floor. The product page pairs it with Mapei Ultraplan 1 Plus self-leveling underlayment and Keraflex Super White mortar, a hint that the subfloor needs to be flat before 24-inch sizes go down.
  • Grout is a small line item. Rectified edges allow thin joints, so grout quantity is low. Pick a color close to the tile, since a contrasting grout fights the limestone look.

Is it worth buying now?

Nothing in the announcement is a sale or a price lock. Budget with the store price you see on your visit date, and read flooring and paint price increases for 2027 before deciding between ordering this winter or waiting. For the basics, start with what is flooring, then put the total in the renovation budget calculator.
